Message to Patients

 

Dear Patients, 

 

We are currently experiencing significant staffing shortages and we are aware that you may have had difficulty getting through to the office.  Our sincere apologies for any trouble you may have had.  At this time, phone message can only be returned for appointment updates or changes for those patients already scheduled from Oct 31 to Nov 15, 2023.  All appointments and procedures spots are fully booked until late November, and after this time patients will be contacted and booked for appointments in accordance to urgency with prioritization given to cancer and trauma patients.  

 

Due to the high volume of urgent surgeries this fall, there is no additional operating room time for elective or non urgent surgical bookings.   If you are on the waitlist for non urgent surgery, your surgery will be scheduled in the new year giving priority to those patients who have been waiting longer.  At this time the office in unable to respond to questions about surgical booking dates unless you have already been given a date for surgery.  We are working hard to process and schedule patients for their surgeries in accordance to urgency and waiting time.  Please note that we have limited surgical time provided by the hospital and this is not something that this office has any ability to change.  

 

Please note that if you have been referred to this office for consultation, that referrals can take up to 6 weeks to process.  Your appointment may take up to 6-8 months to be scheduled due to the volume of referrals in this practice.  We are unable to return phone calls regarding the status of a referral for non urgent consultations for referrals sent to the office in under 6 weeks.  We kindly ask that patients do not make repeated phones calls or leave multiple phone messages as this can further delay processing of referrals in the practice.

We are committed to providing the highest care for our patients and we are working hard to ensure that those patients who need care and surgery the most, based on urgency, are processed in a timely manner.  Each patient is important to this practice and we thank you for your patience and understanding during this time.
